“What has Acadia gotten herself mixed up in?” Adalaide said before slumping into the chair in front of the monitors.

All of us looked around wide-eyed and shocked. If what Rico suggested was true, Adalaide might already be a vampire. Or worse, a past meal. When we thought she was taken to be an acolyte, there was still hope of recovering her. Now, I still hoped, but reason was starting to kick in and make me think she may not be coming back.

“Is anyone tired? Feel free to hit the sack. I’m gonna stay up and watch the monitors for a while. I’m too wired to sleep right now.” There was way too much on my mind tonight to sleep.

Rico had me worried, and now all of this new information added to my disquiet. I doubted I would be able to sleep for quite some time.

“Thanks, Jenna. I think I’m coming down from the high of the night. I’ll go to bed now. Come wake me up when you get tired, and I’ll take over for a few hours.” Kat waved to everyone as she headed to her room.

“I’ll sit with you for a while. I’m not tired yet.” Sam pulled a chair over to the monitors where the two triplets still sat.

“Amaline and Adalaide, you should get some sleep. I think it’s going to be a crazy week going forward. This might be your last chance to get a full night’s sleep.” I walked over to stand behind them and looked at the images flashing across the monitors.

The monitors showed the areas we suspected the abductor, Lukas, to be located. Several were CCTV cameras Kyrie had tapped into. One was a camera located by one of the famous graveyards. People were coming and going from that place. Which is odd since the graveyards close at dusk.

Although, sometimes there are some night tours of “haunted” graveyards. Maybe it was one of those nights. Since learning magic was real, we had discovered that ghosts were not real. Thank goodness! Nothing else on the monitors grabbed my attention.

The triplets got up and said their goodnights and went to get ready for sleep. I sat down in one of the chairs they had been using and prepared for a long, boring night. At least it would give me time to think about everything going on lately.

“Goodnight, Indie. You should get some sleep too. Kat will probably want to wake you early to take over for her, or you’ll get to open the store tomorrow.” I smiled thinking about how I wouldn’t be getting up early. I totally got the best end of this deal tonight.

That is until Rico walked back inside. I thought he had left for the night. However, since he didn’t say goodnight, I should have known otherwise.

What’s with that longing look he’s throwing my way, and in front of everyone to boot.

“Rico, I thought you needed to head back to your pack?”

“I do, I just wanted to come back in and say goodnight.
